Jim Crow in Paris, Texas

Racism, America, and Paris, TX

In Texas, a white teenager burns down her family's home and receives probation. A black one shoves a hall monitor and gets 7 years in prison. The state NAACP calls it `a signal to black folks.'

Yet the morons among us insist on self-congratulatory back-pats on the progress of American society towards equality. Yes, there has been progress, but no, it's not enough for anybody to pat themselves on the back about. How can anybody accuse black Americans of being paranoid about racism when the President's home state has active, thriving cultures of bigotry like Paris?
